Workshop applies new design (BIM 5D) for wind power plant

On July 13^th, 2023, at the office of Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 (PECC3) successfully organized the Workshop with the theme “Applying new design (BIM 5D) to wind power plant”. Via online and live attending, the Workshop had more than 130 participians.

First of all, PECC3 would like to express our sincere thanks to the guests, especially from parties such as: Ecotech Tra Vinh company, which is also the Owner of the 78MW Hiep Thanh Wind Power Plant project during the process of creating Feasibility study report by PECC3, UPC Renewables company, ABB Vietnam company, REE Corporation, Toyota Tsusho Vietnam, JFE Steel Company, EDF Renewables Vietnam, Mainstream Renewable Power Vietnam, Trung Nam Group, other Consulting companies and other Owners… accompanied and attended the Workshop “Applying new design (BIM 5D) to wind power plant”.

Mr. Tran Quoc Dien – Deputy General Director of PECC3, head of the Workshop organizing staff, speaking at the opening ceremony, said that the strong development of renewable energies in the near future, in line with the trend of power source development has been approved by the Master Plan VIII. He also shared that PECC3 regularly organizes seminars and workshops to discuss and provide new, important information to its partners and customers. In addition, PECC3 is in the process of implementing digital transformation, changing and applying new design to adapt and match the current trends.

At the beginning, Mr. Phan Duc Thai Chan, deputy director of R&D department, thanked the guests for their participation, introduced key personnel to implement BIM 5D for the project and presented the main contents of the Workshop.

The Workshop main contents including:

1. Legal bases for changing the design method in construction investment work
2. BIM 5D design tools, processes and products
3. 02 clips describe BIM 5D implementation
4. 3D desgin presentation by Web-platform
5. Introduction of new generation onshore wind power foundation construction technology Gripterra

The Workshop focused on important contents related to new design technology for wind power plants in particular and the design field in general according to the Prime Minister’s Decision no.258/QD-TTg approving the Roadmap for the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction activities. PECC3 introduced methods, tools and benefits of applying BIM in wind power plant design. The presentation helped everyone better understand how BIM implementation will improve the efficiency, quality of the wind power plant design and construction process, and help create an efficient and explicit co-op environment, as well as enhancing coordination among related parties.

The live attention at PECC3 office and online participation made the Workshop a memorable event and brought a lot of value to the field of design – investment – construction of renewable energy works. The sharing of experiences and perspectives from the parties made the Workshop atmosphere exalted and lively.

PECC3 hopes that the knowledge and information shared at this Workshop will continue to contribute to the development and promotion of BIM application for wind power plants in particular and power sources in general.
