Currently, renewable energy accounts for 16% of global energy consumption and is primarily used in the electricity industry. According to statistics, the total electricity output from solar power nationwide in 2020 is 10.6 billion kWh (of which rooftop solar power alone accounts for 1.16 billion kWh), accounting for approximately 4.3% of the total mobilized output of the entire national electricity system.

Renewable energy is non-polluting to the environment and helps to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere, thereby reducing the greenhouse effect. These are infinite energy sources because they never run out. Renewable energy sources assist countries in achieving energy self-sufficiency, avoiding energy crises, reducing nuclear power production, and avoiding war-causing conflicts.

Renewable energy is also known as unlimited and sustainable renewable energy

PECC3’s first steps before the potential of the renewable energy industry in Vietnam.

Vietnam is a country with great potential for renewable energy (solar power, wind power, wave power, ocean current power). Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW dated February 11, 2020 of the Politburo on the orientation of Vietnam’s national energy development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, has the policy to build a new energy market with uniform quality, competition, transparency, diversification of ownership forms and business methods; application of market prices to all types of energy.

Encourage and create all favorable conditions for all economic sectors, particularly the private sector, to participate in energy development; and steadfastly eliminate all manifestations of subsidies, monopolies, unfair competition, and lack of transparency in the energy industry.

Vietnam’s energy development potential

Because of its long coastline, tropical monsoon climate, and strong agricultural economy, Vietnam has abundant and diverse conditions for the development and production of wind power and solar energy. Mineral resources are expected to be depleted within the next 80-100 years. Renewable energy is a viable alternative to traditional energy sources. As a result, renewable energy has been identified as one of three special priority areas in Vietnam’s industrial development strategy and vision to 2035.

Potential for energy development in Vietnam

PECC3 offers design consulting, surveys, pre-feasibility study documents (Pre-FS), feasibility study documents (FS), basic design, construction drawing design, and agreement.
