On 8 February 2023, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc Dang – Legal Specialist – represented PECC3 to speak at Webinar 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍. Webinar is organized by Leader Associates – a leading international event organizer in the field of clean energy. Along with two other wind energy webinars particularly for the markets of Australia and Japan, the Webinar is a part of the 𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐂 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝑳𝑰𝑽𝑬. Representatives of major companies in the wind power industry such as: Equinor, the Blue Circle, Wood Mackenzie, Triconti ECC Renewables Corporation, Corio Generation, TotalEnergies also joined in the Webinar.
Mr. Phuc Dang had the opportunity to present the broad legal picture, as well as the promising, yet challenging, outlook of Vietnam’s wind power in general. Data shows that Vietnam has an ideal geographical position for wind power development. However, in the near future, wind power in Vietnam has to face challenges such as the legal framework is still in development and subject to further changes, pricing mechanism for new projects has not yet been available, power development plan is still being in review stage. But looking further, we see that wind power has a good and long-term development opportunity. Following State’s documents, renewable energy in general and wind power in particular is favored by the Government in recent years. The event where Vietnam and the International Partners Group (IPG) including the European Union, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the United States, Italy, Canada, Japan, Norway and Denmark agreed to the Equal Energy Transfer Partnership (JETP) on 14 December 2022 to assist Vietnam in achieving its ambitious goal of net-zero by 2050, is also a good sign.
Through this workshop, PECC3 once again shows its active participation in renewable energy and commitment to the green energy transition. As one of the leading power engineering and consulting companies in Vietnam, PECC3 provides effective building solutions and professional technical support services with a highly qualified and dedicated team of engineers and consultants, contributing to the development of the country.
