After a period of urgent construction, at 21h50 on October 26, 2019, at the 500kV O Mon Substation , the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) coordinated with the applications. relevant organizations organize the energizing, acceptance and put into operation of the transmission line 500kV Long Phu – O Mon.
The Long Phu – O Mon 500kV transmission line project has a scale of 2 circuits, 85.2km long, from SPP 500kV Long Phu Electricity Center to 500kV O Mon substation. The line goes through the commune of Long Phu district, Chau Thanh – Soc Trang province; Phung Hiep and Chau Thanh A districts – Hau Giang province; Phong Dien and O Mon districts – Can Tho city to O Mon 500kV substation.
Implementing the Decision No. 3549 / QD-BCT, dated July 5, 2010 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade approving the planning of connecting Long Phu Electricity Center to the national electricity system, July 2014, Power Transmission Corporation National (EVNNPT) has started construction of the 500kV TDD Long Phu – O Mon Project.
To ensure the progress of the project, EVNNPT has assigned SPMB on behalf of EVNNPT to run the project management and supervision consultancy. Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 carries out design consultancy; Vietnam Electricity Construction Joint Stock Company, Electricity Construction Company Limited 4, Electricity Construction Joint Stock Company 1, Song Da 11 Joint Stock Company, Machinery Installation Joint Stock Company and Machinery Installation Joint Stock Company and building electricity to ensure construction and installation of lines; Power Transmission Company No. 4 is the unit that receives, checks and manages the operation.
The commissioning of the 500kV Long Phu – O Mon transmission line project meets an important goal under the Government’s direction, in order to release the capacity of the Long Phu Power Center into the national electricity system, together with 500kV O Mon – My Tho, My Tho – Nha Be – Phu Lam and 500kV O Mon and 500kV My Tho substations transmit the power of power plants from the Southwest to the Eastern load center. Southern region and Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, along with the 500kV and 220kV lines in the area, it creates a stable and reliable system link between power centers and load areas.
